Who Is SteadiManNY??

SteadiManNY is Manny Torres. Emmy Award Winning TV Cameraman and Steadicam Owner/Operator. Based in Brooklyn NYC, and with over 30 years in the Broadcast industry, Manny has had the distinct honor of working in almost every major Studio in the Tri Stae area, and with the Best Anchors, Actors, Musicians, Directors and Engineers on the Planet. Right here in NY.

Manny Started his career at CNN in the late 80's as an ENG audio tech, when CNN was in its infancy. From there, He moved to WPIX where he got his first taste at shooting Yankee baseball. In 1995 he began his freelance career, and moved to FOX where he helped launch the FX Channel, and The Rosie O'Donnel Show, where he won his first Emmy Award for Best Camera and Video in Daytime Talk. MTV, VH1, NBC, ABC, ESPN, And Sony/Screengem are just a few of his many clients. Over the course of his career, Manny has developed and extensive background in Live Remote, Music, Entertainment, Talk, Feature Film and Sports programming.

In 2000, Manny began his Steadicam career, and had the pleasure of training with Garret Brown himself. The inventor of the Steadicam. Most recently, he was honored to be asked to represent his craft and his City, in the NYC Mayors office of Film and TV's "Made In NY" Campaign. Created to help bring more Film and Television production to NYC, it highlighted the over 130,000 jobs the production industry creates here in NYC, and the many hardworking Steadicam ops, Cameramen, Lighting designers, Special effects guys, Audio techs, etc. etc, that help make these productions magic.
